Introducing NernstNaK - a student-led initiative that aims to shed light on the captivating world of STEM and build a community of like-minded individuals to promote scientific hypotheses and make an impact. Started by Anushka Jain and Medha Gopalakrishnan, NernstNaK hopes to provide opportunities for all young science enthusiasts to explore STEM - through events, volunteering, article writing and so much more.
Current Projects
Twice a week, we post brief articles on our blog relating to multiple disciplines and discoveries within STEM. We’ve covered topics under quantum physics, genetic theory, astrophysics, evolutionary biology, technology, and much more. We believe these articles help make scientific knowledge more accessible to the general public, thus cultivating an interest in STEM. Additionally, this task helps develop essential skills in writing, research, and critical thinking. This fulfills the first part of our mission - to spread awareness about theories and hypotheses within STEM.
An extension of this is The Spotlight Series: Every week, we post about an initiative, professional, or sector related to or within STEM. We do this by interviewing organizations and posting about their work on our blog. This has helped us connect to people beyond our organization, fostering meaningful associations. By showcasing diverse projects, we not only highlight the incredible work done in various fields but also create a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Future Goals
Our future goals include a multitude of projects dedicated to giving back to the community and raising awareness around STEM. We aim to provide STEM resources and tools to underprivileged students within our community through drives and campaigns.
Moreover, we strive to create a vibrant community where students can inspire and learn from each other, fostering a deeper appreciation for STEM fields.

Medha Gopalakrishnan
Medha is a Grade 11 student interested in pursuing STEM research in the future, specifically biochemistry. With NernstNaK, she aims to provide a platform for young science enthusiasts to engage with the scientific community at all levels. She is excited to work with her co-founder, Anushka Jain, to build an organization that meaningfully impacts youth in STEM.
Anushka Jain
Anushka, a junior in high school, is highly intrigued by STEM fields and aspires to pursue research, particularly within Neuroscience. Through NernstNaK, she aims to raise awareness of STEM, foster a robust environment where young individuals passionate about science can thrive, and make a positive impact in the field.
